1st NHS Membership Conference
The first NHS Membership Conference took place on 9th June 2009, The Village Hotel, Hull.
The theme for the event was the Membership model within a Primary Care Trust (PCT) - exploring the impact & development of a membership scheme for people living and accessing local healthcare service.
Speakers represented organisations including: NHS Hull, NHS Centre for Involvement, Hull & East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, Humber Mental Health Teaching NHS Trust and Capita.
Areas discussed at the conference included:
- What are the impacts of a membership model?
- How could a membership model drive the local NHS and how does this shape health service development and the local public health agenda?
- What are the challenges and opportunities for partnership working to promote a sustainable standard of health service locally?
- Good practice in engagement/involvement
- Model structure and influencing mechanisms
